Enter a Citation Manually#

For citations that cannot be found via DOI or reverse lookup:

  1. Switch to the Manual tab

  2. Select the entry type (Article, Book, Chapter, etc.)

  3. Fill in the fields: title, authors (one per line as Last, First), year, journal/publisher, volume, pages

  4. Click Format citation

Manual entry never counts against your daily lookup limit. Use it freely.

After a Bad Match#

If DOI or reverse lookup returned the wrong paper, click Edit. The manual form opens with all fields pre-filled. Fix what is wrong and re-format.
